A fraternal and paternal evening at The Lodge of Dawn 6511

Tuesday October 28th saw Worshipful Master Dave Jackson deliver, what is a rare opportunity, to initiate his son into The Lodge of Dawn 6511. It was both a personal and very professional experience to behold. Bro. Jackson is our first initiate of this Masonic Year 2025/6 and his initiation was indeed a wonderful start to our Worshipful Masters’ year in the chair. All those taking part in ritual were on top form thus adding to the splendour of the ceremony. However, the paternal connection throughout was not only a joy to watch but a privilege to witness.

Following initiation there was a surprise presentation to W Bro Frank Rosenhead who was initiated on October 14th 1975 by his father Worshipful Brother Mick Rosenhead.

W Bro Rosenhead said afterwards “I was quietly attending my regular Lodge meeting, but uninvolved in the ceremony for the first time in seven years. As the ceremony was coming to a close a most unexpected and delightful occurrence. I was asked to stand, and the Worshipful Master presented me with a Certificate commemorating the 50th anniversary of my initiation into Freemasonry. I very much appreciated both the presentation of the Certificate and the Certificate itself, which I will treasure for the next fifty years in Freemasonry.”

There were 58 in attendance including 14 visitors. Three of those were Entered Apprentices who came to witness an Initiation for the first time.

Among the visitors was Worshipful Brother Dr. Philip Drury PJGD, the second Provincial Grand Principal, who came as a guest of Worshipful Brother Simon Fellerman PJGD, the third Provincial Grand Principal.

Festive Board was a lively affair and our usual raffle raising £285
