Mothers and daughters and a new brother

On Tuesday 22nd November, The Lodge of Dawn hosted our mother lodge, Loyalty Lodge no 4971, for our annual lodge inter-visit. Each year we invite the brethren of our mother lodge to join us and to attend our ceremony.

This year 18 brethren from Loyalty Lodge joined us to witness a First Degree ceremony. It was wonderful to see so many visitors in the temple to watch a well delivered ceremony (the first to be presided over by our new Worshipful Master) consisting of excellently delivered ritual and impressive floor work. The evening was completed with a wonderful buzz at the Festive Board.

The brethren of Loyalty Lodge joined the Worshipful Master for a photo in the temple after the ceremony.

The candidate for the evening, Bro Adam Chrimes, delivered a heartfelt speech (see pic below) during the festive board, and the lodge secretary also read out an email from W Bro. John Hunter, Past Provincial Grand Secretary of Orkney and Zetland, a family friend of Adam’s wishing him good luck in his masonic career.

Adam is also pictured below with the Worshipful Master after the ceremony.

Both photos in the temple were taken by Howard Barnett.

The charity raffle during the evening raised £372 for Yorkshire Brain Tumour Charity; a charity very close the the Worshipful Master’s heart after the recent sad death of a very close friend. The cheque was delivered two weeks later – see here.
